It's time for the NJDSC Conference -
The momentum continues to build for New Jersey Democrats! Following our recent successes, it's time we get down to business and get to work electing Democrats across New Jersey. Honoring the Life of Former Congressman John Adler - Chairman Wisniewski on the passing of former Congressman Adler: John always fought for what he believed in and I was proud to have called him a colleague, a friend and a fellow Democrat. His commitment to his community and our state was beyond measure and his legacy will live on through his good works. His passing has to make you stop and think about the pace at which we all live and the life we miss while doing it. He will be sorely missed.”

- NJN: Democrats questioned the Treasurer and said the administration’s cuts to municipal and school aid and its decision to eliminate the property tax rebate last year drove double-digit property tax increases. Meanwhile, they say the current spending plan is disproportionately tough on the middle class and the poor.
- NJN: Over 200 employees gathered with members of the Legislature to protest the proposed 2013 closure of Vineland Developmental Center, which is the oldest developmental center in the state.

Congressional Corner Senator Lautenberg spoke at a Rally for Health event in Washington, DC about the need to fight back against Tea Party GOP attacks on women's health. - Senator Lautenberg warned Americans to "Beware" of Tea Party Republican Cuts. (VIDEO) In addition, he decried the Tea Party Republicans for trying to "Shut it Down"
- Senators Lautenberg and Menendez announced the award of $38.5 million to NJ Transit in stimulus money toward the overdue replacement of the Portal Bridge on the Northeast Corridor. The Senators also announced that three New Jersey fire departments received more than $578,000 in federal funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. These grants can be invested in training, equipment, personal protective equipment, health programs, and other support for stations and facilities.
- Congressman Pascrell has joined with Congresswoman Giffords' office to put a focus on brain-injury care.
- Congressman Rush Holt said that Republicans are in denial over drilling: "It's hard to think that before we even enact legislation to improve the safety of offshore drilling - which we badly need - we would put more economies, more beaches and potentially more lives at risk from another spill and blowout. These bills were written as if the Deepwater Horizon disaster never occurred. They make offshore drilling less safe, not more safe."

- On a very special edition of "To The Point with Congressman Bill Pascrell," Congressman Pascrell interviewed House Homeland Security Chairman Peter King.
- Local military veterans and retirees received some good news from Congressmen Pallone and Holt when the Department of Veterans Affairs announced that it will continue to operate a community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC) in Monmouth County following the closure of Fort Monmouth.
- Congressman Holt has asked the federal Department of Homeland Security to stop deporting the same-sex spouses of U.S. citizens.

- Congressman Sires provided a certificate of thanks for service to the community.
- Shore area congressmen including Congressman Pallone said in a letter to leadership of the House Appropriations Committee that money the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration wants to redirect toward the fisheries catch share programs should instead be returned to the agency’s research budget.
